Hail Municipality launched the very first dates and grapes festival at a local amusement park recently. More than 20 varieties of home-grown dates and grapes were sold for SR100,000 on the first day of the month-long festival, which was bustling with sellers, buyers and visitors. The traditional market also witnessed brisk trade activity.
The quantity of fruits for sale is expected to double when date and grape produce fully ripen in the next few days.
Municipal authorities have taken steps to keep temperatures moist and cool by spraying water over the area’s green surface.
Families are flocking in large numbers to the festival’s productive family markets and traditional souk, in addition to other amusement facilities.
Productive family stalls have been attracting families and other visitors in large numbers. The stalls mainly sell traditional food items and handicraft products and hope to make high revenues, said the saleswoman of a productive family stall.
